Welcome
Thank you for choosing ShutterFaith Photography as your lifestyle Photographer. Our families grow so fast, it is hard to remember all of the little moments that we go through. Our goal is to capture your family as they are now, to memorialize this time in your family's life.
What to expect during your photo session?
We want to make your photo session an enjoyable and fun experience. Here are our frequently asked questions.
How long is the session?
Our photography session will take between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on your family and conditions. The goal is to be quick; especially with little ones, as their attentions can fatigue pretty quickly. Our style allows us to capture plenty of images for your gallery and to get the details that show the emotional connections that you have.
What location will we shoot at?
If we have not already decided on a location, that's fine, there are lots of great locations in our area. Let us know what setting you'd like to photograph in and we will help you pick a suitable location. Some options would be a park, with trees and grass, an urban setting, something on the beach or by the water.
If you have a special location that you want to shoot at, just let us know and we can discuss the best way to acomdate that.
When will the session take place?
We will choose the best time of day, based on lighting conditions, to compliment your family. Depending on time of year, location and weather, our lighting needs can change dramatically. Typically, our sessions will be scheduled in the evening, at or just before what is referred to as Golden Hour. This time of day provides gorgeous light from the Sun and looks fantastic in photographs.
What should I wear?
First and most important, choose something that will be comfortable for you and your family. If your family is not comfortable in what they are wearing, it will show in the photographs.
Do not try to match outfits, instead think of coordinating your choices. Solid and complimentary colors work great. Try to limit the patterns on you and the kids. Think big and bold when it comes to floral prints and be selective of plaid. Mom, start with yourself. Find that favorite dress or blouse, and then build the rest of the family outfits accordingly.
Also remember watches, wallets and phones. Most of us don't want these memories to include our cell phone sticking out of our back pockets or maybe a fitness/smart watch that we forgot to take off. Consider what accessories should be included and which should be left at home.
How to set my kids expectations?
We want the kids to view this as a fun and enjoyable experience. Set the tone by encouraging them to be themselves during the session. We want to capture their personalities and uniqueness at this moment in their life. Don't bribe the kids with treats, but make the photo session the first act of a family outing. Maybe combine our photo session with a night out for ice cream or a special dinner.
Please remember to have everyone use the bathroom before arriving. If you have little ones, a good idea might be to have them take a later nap, or maybe just some downtime before the session. Also, a light snack right before the session can also help, we don't want the kids eating or hungry during the shoot.
